About NLU Delhi & the IPR Chair
National Law University, Delhi (NLUD) is a top-tier Indian legal institution based in Dwarka, New Delhi. Established with the vision of promoting interdisciplinary legal education, it serves as a hub for research that shapes the rule of law and national development.
The IPR Chair at NLU Delhi is instituted by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry. It operates alongside the Centre for Innovation, Intellectual Property and Competition (CIIPC) to facilitate high-level education, empirical research, and policy dialogue. This Chair is part of the national SPRIHA scheme (Scheme for Pedagogy and Research in IPRs for Holistic Education and Academia), aimed at fostering a robust IP ecosystem in India.
About the Internship
The IPR Chair is inviting applications for full-time, on-campus interns for the April–June 2026 quarter. This is a merit-based, research-intensive role that offers selected students the chance to contribute to live projects involving law-making, corporate IP strategy, and academic scholarship.
Interns are integrated into the core functioning of the Chair, working closely with faculty and research assistants to analyze complex legal questions that bridge the gap between innovation and the law.

Internship Verticals
Interns will be assigned to one or more of the following specialized focus areas:
- Graduate Education: Supporting the development of curriculum and open-access textbooks for IP law.
- Research & Writing: Conducting deep-dive legal research and drafting academic papers or policy briefs.
- Government & Policy: Analyzing upcoming legislation, parliamentary business, and government notifications.
- MSME & Corporate IP: Exploring the interface of IP rights for startups and small-to-medium enterprises.

Eligibility & Requirements
- Current Students: Must be enrolled in an Undergraduate (UG) or Postgraduate (PG) law program.
- Prerequisite Knowledge: Applicants should have either:
- Studied Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) as a subject.
- Successfully completed the L2PRO India E-Learning Programme (Basic Level).
- Commitment: Ability to commit to a full-time, on-campus role. Candidates should ensure they do not have active academic sessions during the internship.
- Skills: Exceptional research, drafting, and analytical capabilities.
