7th Gavelled Moot Court Competition 2026 registrations are now open for law students across India. The competition will be organised by the Moot Court Society of the School of Law at Lovely Professional University and will take place from 1–3 April 2026.
This prestigious moot court competition provides participants with a platform to develop advocacy skills, legal reasoning, and courtroom presentation abilities through simulated judicial proceedings.

The 7th Gavelled Moot Court Competition 2026 is organised by the School of Law Lovely Professional University under Lovely Professional University.
Lovely Professional University is a NAAC A++ accredited multi-faculty research institution known for its globally benchmarked curriculum, experiential teaching approach, and academic infrastructure. The School of Law at LPU is approved by the Bar Council of India and is ranked 26th in the NIRF Law Rankings 2025.
The competition is organised by the Moot Court Society (MCS), which actively promotes advocacy training, mooting culture, and legal research among law students.

The 7th Gavelled Moot Court Competition 2026 is the flagship mooting event of the School of Law at LPU. The competition focuses on contemporary issues in criminal jurisprudence and constitutional law.
The moot proposition for this edition examines criminal adjudication in the digital age, particularly focusing on:
- Evidentiary integrity of forensic data
- Electronic surveillance and digital evidence
- Reliability of technological investigation tools
- Witness testimony and procedural fairness
- Chain of custody and evidentiary standards
Participants will analyse complex factual disputes while applying constitutional safeguards and principles of criminal justice.

Participants will submit written memorials and compete in oral advocacy rounds before panels of judges.
Eligibility & Requirements
The 7th Gavelled Moot Court Competition 2026 is open to:
- Students enrolled in 3-year LL.B. programmes
- Students enrolled in 5-year integrated law programmes
Participants from any year of their law programme are eligible to participate.
Registration Fee
The registration fee for the competition is:
- ₹6,000 for registrations completed on or before 15 March 2026
- ₹6,500 for registrations completed after 15 March 2026
Prize Pool
The 7th Gavelled Moot Court Competition 2026 offers a total prize pool of ₹1.10 lakh.
Awards include:
- Winner: ₹51,000 + Trophy + Certificate
- Runner-Up: ₹31,000 + Trophy + Certificate
- Best Speaker: ₹10,000 + Trophy + Certificate
- Best Researcher: ₹10,000 + Trophy + Certificate
- Best Memorial: ₹10,000 + Trophy + Certificate
All participating teams will receive certificates of participation.
