About Adv. Bharat Chugh

Bharat Chugh is a distinguished legal professional known for his meteoric rise in the Indian judiciary and his subsequent excellence in independent practice. After graduating in 2011, he secured the 1st Rank in the Delhi Judicial Service (DJS) Examination in 2013 at the age of 23. He served as a Civil Judge/Metropolitan Magistrate for four years before resigning to return to the bar.

Since returning to practice, he has served as a Partner at a top-tier firm (L&L Partners) and now heads his own chambers. Bharat Chugh is highly regarded for his mastery of Criminal Law, Arbitration, and White-Collar Crimes, as well as his prolific legal writing and mentorship of young lawyers.


About the Internship

The internship at the Chambers of Bharat Chugh is an intensive, physical program based in New Delhi. It is designed for students who are not only academically proficient but also intellectually curious about the nuances of “court-craft” and strategic litigation.

Interns are expected to move beyond basic clerical tasks and engage deeply with the law. You will be encouraged to analyze complex briefs from a dual perspective—both as a practitioner and through the analytical lens of a former judge.

Key Responsibilities

Selected interns will be involved in:

  • Legal Research: Conducting deep-dives into procedural and substantive laws, including the new criminal law reforms (BNS, BNSS, BSA).
  • Drafting: Assisting in drafting petitions, legal opinions, and research notes for High Court and Trial Court matters.
  • Court Attendance: Observing proceedings at the Delhi High Court and various District Courts to understand the art of advocacy and cross-examination.
  • Content Contribution: Researching and summarizing landmark judgments for the Chamber’s ongoing academic and blog initiatives.
