About the Post / Opportunity

NTPC Limited invites online applications for the post of Assistant Law Officer (E0 Level). Selection for this position will be based on CLAT-2026 (Post Graduate Programme) scores conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities.

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of CLAT-2026 scores will be called for further stages of the selection process as decided by NTPC. CLAT scores of any year other than 2026 or scores of any other examination will not be considered.

This recruitment is suitable for law graduates seeking entry-level legal roles in a public sector undertaking, with no prior professional experience requirement.


Number of Vacancies

The total number of projected vacancies is 06, distributed as follows:

  • Unreserved (UR): 3
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC): 2
  • Scheduled Caste (SC): 1
  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 0

Roles and Responsibilities

Minimum Marks

  • 60% marks in the qualifying degree
  • 55% marks for candidates belonging to SC category and PwBD

CLAT Requirement

  • Candidate must have appeared in CLAT-2026 (Post Graduate Programme)
  • Scores of any other CLAT year or examination will not be accepted

Age Limit

  • Upper age limit: 30 years (as on the last date of online application)

Age Relaxation

  • SC: 5 years
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
  • PwBD: 10 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: As per Government of India norms

Nationality

  • Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply

Salary and Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be placed in the E0 Level pay scale under the IDA pattern:

  • ₹30,000 – ₹1,20,000

In addition to basic pay, candidates will be entitled to allowances and benefits as applicable under NTPC rules.
