Scope of Work and Responsibilities

Selected interns will assist the MP’s office in the following areas:

1. Policy Research and Legislative Analysis

  • Conduct research on public policy issues, governance frameworks, and legislative developments
  • Analyse bills, policy proposals, and government initiatives relevant to parliamentary business

2. Parliamentary Drafting Support

  • Assist in drafting parliamentary questions
  • Support the drafting of Private Member’s Bills
  • Prepare talking points and briefs on specific subjects for parliamentary use

3. Writing and Communication

  • Assist in drafting speeches, op-eds, and written statements
  • Prepare concise policy notes and summaries for internal use

4. Stakeholder and Media Support

  • Support coordination related to stakeholder engagement
  • Assist in background preparation for media interactions and public communication

The work will require strong research skills, clarity of thought, and the ability to present policy issues in a structured and concise manner.


Eligibility and Preferred Profile

While no strict eligibility criteria are prescribed, applicants are expected to demonstrate:

  • Strong interest in public policy, governance, and parliamentary affairs
  • Sound research and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines
  • Familiarity with policy analysis, current affairs, or legislative processes (preferred but not mandatory)

Candidates from the North Eastern region of India are especially encouraged to apply.
