About the Corporate Client Counselling Competition at MNLU Mumbai 2026

The Corporate Client Counselling Competition at MNLU Mumbai 2026 marks the second edition of this prestigious platform that allows law students to immerse themselves in complex corporate dispute scenarios. After a highly successful inaugural edition judged by leading professionals from SAM, CAM and Khaitan & Co., the competition returns with a more intensive structure and enhanced real-world simulation.

This competition is designed to assess participants on their ability to manage corporate clients, interpret complicated legal issues, formulate strategic solutions and communicate effectively in high-pressure advisory situations. Forty teams will participate and be challenged across a broad range of corporate law domains including Company Law, Contract Law, Insolvency and Bankruptcy, Banking and Finance, Securities Law and Capital Markets. The competition is ideal for law students seeking practical exposure to client-facing corporate practice.

The Corporate Client Counselling Competition at MNLU Mumbai 2026 will commence with online preliminary rounds, ensuring nationwide accessibility, followed by offline advanced rounds at the MNLU Mumbai campus. This hybrid format provides students an opportunity to engage in digital advocacy while also experiencing in-person client counselling simulations, reflecting the modern corporate law practice environment.

Eligibility & Requirements

The Corporate Client Counselling Competition at MNLU Mumbai 2026 is open to all students enrolled in either a 5-year integrated law programme or a 3-year LL.B. programme. Both institutional teams and individual open category teams are eligible to participate. Each team must consist of two counsels, while selected students from MNLU Mumbai will role-play as clients in every round. Mixed teams and open category registrations will receive provisional confirmation subject to availability of slots. Participants must demonstrate professionalism, clarity of thought, sound legal reasoning and strong communication skills throughout the competition.


Registration Details

  • Institutional teams will receive the final registration form upon successful provisional registration.
  • Mixed and open teams will be evaluated and confirmed separately through email.
  • The preliminary rounds will be conducted online, and only the top four teams will qualify for the offline advanced rounds.

Registration Fee

  • Online Preliminary Rounds: ₹4,500 per team
  • Offline Advanced Rounds (Top 4 teams): Additional ₹5,500 per team

  • Winner: ₹20,000 + Internship Opportunities
  • Runners-Up: ₹10,000 + Internship Opportunities
  • Best Counsel: ₹10,000 + Internship Opportunities
