This role forms part of Meesho’s Legal and Secretarial Team and is suited for experienced legal professionals with strong exposure to corporate advisory, commercial contracts, and regulatory compliance.

Meesho’s Legal and Secretarial Team plays a critical role in supporting the company across corporate governance, compliance, strategic transactions, IPO readiness, and mergers & acquisitions. The team works closely with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that legal strategy aligns with Meesho’s long-term growth objectives.

About the Role
The Assistant Manager – Legal position is a business-facing, high-impact role that sits at the intersection of law, strategy, and operations. The selected candidate will act as a legal advisor as well as a business enabler, supporting key transactions, strengthening compliance frameworks, and contributing to Meesho’s expansion and governance initiatives.
This role involves close coordination with senior leadership, internal teams, and external counsel, and requires a pragmatic approach to balancing legal risk with business priorities.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including:
- Vendor and supplier contracts
- Distribution and licensing agreements
- SaaS and technology contracts
- Strategic partnership agreements
- Advising on corporate governance, regulatory, and compliance matters, including compliance under the Companies Act, FEMA, SEBI regulations, and other applicable laws
- Supporting and executing corporate transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, investments, and corporate restructurings
- Working closely with business teams to identify legal risks and provide commercially viable, practical solutions
- Engaging and managing external legal counsel for due diligence exercises, specialised advisory work, and complex transactions
- Monitoring regulatory and legal developments and assessing their implications for the business
- Recommending and implementing improvements to internal policies, processes, compliance monitoring systems, and risk management frameworks
- Driving efficiency in contract lifecycle management and legal operations
Required Skills and Competencies
Candidates should demonstrate:
- A strong foundation in corporate and commercial law, with hands-on experience in high-value contracts and transactions

Eligibility Criteria
- Qualified LL.B.
- 4–6 years of post-qualification experience (PQE)
- Prior experience in a reputed law firm and/or an in-house legal role
- Exposure to corporate advisory work, transactions, and regulatory compliance
- Experience handling cross-border contracts and complex commercial negotiations
