“Experience the highest level of Indian litigation by assisting an Advocate-on-Record in the high-stakes environment of the Supreme Court of India.”
About the Role: Advocate-on-Record (AOR)
An Advocate-on-Record (AOR) is a specialized legal professional authorized by the Supreme Court of India to file and conduct cases. While any advocate may argue before the bench, only an AOR can formally act on behalf of a party, file petitions, and communicate with the Court Registry.
Interning at the Office of Aditya Sharma (AOR) provides a rare window into the procedural and substantive complexities of the Apex Court. You will transition from theoretical study to the practical realities of Special Leave Petitions (SLPs), Writ Petitions, and appellate strategy.
What You Will Gain
This internship for February 2026 is designed for students who are ready to immerse themselves in active litigation. You will move beyond clerical tasks to engage in the intellectual architecture of case preparation.
Key Learning Areas:
- Supreme Court Practice: Understanding the unique Supreme Court Rules, 2013, which govern filings, mentions, and registry procedures.
- Appellate Strategy: Observing how constitutional and civil arguments are distilled for the final level of appeal.
- Legal Research & Drafting: Utilizing tools like SCC Online and Manupatra to find binding precedents and assisting in drafting ‘List of Dates’ and ‘Chronologies’.
